Allen, Jean- Mrs. Jean Goodwin, of Mansfield, died Feb. 3, 1953, after an extended illness. She was the widow of Arthur Clinton Goodwin, noted artist of Boston and New York City. She was a daughter of Fred M. and Clara Wentworth Allen. She had lived for the past 22 years in Mansfield. She was a member of the Methodist Church and an honorary member of the Columbian Literary Exchange. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret S. Lapp, of Corning; grandson, David Collins Lapp, of Mansfield, sister, Mrs. Elizabeth S. Allen, instructor at Mansfield State Teachers College; sister-in-law, Mrs. Richard W. Allen, and aunt, Mrs. Stella Allen Ely, both of Mansfield; uncle W. Herschell Collins, Monclair, N.J.; several cousins. The funeral was held from the Shaw and Robena Funeral home today at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Stanley C. Robinson officiating; burial was in Prospect Cemetery. |
