BAILEY, Nellie Josephine [SRGP 17070] - Mrs. Josephine B. Hitchcock, 48, wife of Wendell W. Hitchcock, of 21 Saint James Street, Mansfield, died Tuesday, July 19, 1966 in the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital at Wellsboro. She was admitted following a heart attack on Sunday. She was born in Mansfield March 31, 1918, daughter of Mrs. Ethel B. Stickler Bailey, of Mansfield, and the late Arthur W. Bailey. A grad of Mansfield public schools and Mansfield State College, she was a first grade teacher in the Mansfield elementary schools last year and previously had taught at the Williamson school in Tioga. She was a member of the Mansfield Methodist Church. Surviving besides her husband and her mother are two sons, Wendell Jr., serving in the U.S. Navy at Norfolk, and Thomas, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Chamberlain, of Mainesburg; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Shea of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Jeanette Rose and Mrs. Tretha Newton, of Mansfield; two brothers, H. Donald Bailey of Warshaw, NY, and Marvin, of Mansfield RD 3. There are three grandchildren. Funeral was held last Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Shaw & Robena Funeral Home, the Rev.
