BENSON - Incel B. Tears, (SRGP 04275) age 82 of Mansfield RD 2, Saturday, December 8, 1979 at the Green Home in Wellsboro. Friends are invited to call at the Kuhl Funeral Home in Mansfield Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral there Tuesday at 1 p.m., Rev. Harry D. Krause officiating. Burial in State Road Cemetery, Mainesburg. Survived by brother Oswald B. Benson of Mainesburg; sister-in-law Mrs. Bernice Benson of Covington, Pa; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Roseville Baptist Church, member of the Jobs Corners Grange and retired after 42 years of teaching in the area. She was born February 2, 1897 in Fall Brook, Pa., the daughter of Charles and Sarah Tench Benson. BENSON - INCEL B. TEARS Mrs. Incel B. Tears, 82, of Roseville, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 1979, in the Green Home, Wellsboro. Born Feb. 2, 1897, at Fallbrook, Tioga County, she was a daughter of Charles and Sarah Tench Benson. She was a member of Roseville Baptist Church. She had been employed as a teacher in the area for 42 years. Mrs. Tears was a member of Jobs Corners Grange. Surviving is a brother, Oswald B. Benson, of Mainesburg; sister-in-law, Mrs. Bernice Benson of Covington; several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Tuesday at the Kuhl Funeral Home, Mansfield. Burial was in State Road Cemetery, Mainesburg. The Rev. Harry B. Krause, her pastor, officiated. MRS. INCEL TEARS - TEA HONORS RETIRING TEACHER Incel Benson (SRGP 4275) Roseville—Mrs. Incel Tears, a retiring teacher in the Mansfield Joint School District, was honored by a tea in the Roseville Baptist Church Sunday afternoon. She was honored by teachers, parents and friends for her work in education, the church and the community. Mrs. Tears was presented a corsage by Rutland Township School Board President Gilbert Furman, and a gift by Sidney Powlison, another board member, on behalf of the community. Among the estimated 200 persons attending the tea were Ted Dunkleberger and Henry Oldroyd, school board members at the time Mrs. Tears began her teaching career. Mrs. Tears was born in Fall Brook and attended schools there. She was graduated from the former Mansfield State Normal School in 1925 and the former Mansfield State Teachers College in 1946. Her 42 years of teaching include 26 years at Roseville and the remainder in Sullivan township and Wellsboro schools. (Handwritten date June 3, 1962) |
