BRACE - VOSBURG Listed on 04/30/04 Frances B. (SRGP 2125) Age 93, of Berthoud, CO, and formerly of Mansfield, PA, died onWednesday, April 28, 2004, at the McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO. Frances was born on March 20, 1911 in Richmond Twp., a daughter of Harry and Lucy (Tanner) Brace. She was the wife of the late Ernest K. Vosburg. Frances was a graduate of the Mansfield Normal School (Mansfield University). She taught at the Liberty and Northern Tioga Schools and also tutored students. Frances and Ernie owned and operated the former Mansfield Restaurant for 21 years. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Mansfield and had been the church organist, served as the church vestry. Frances lived with Karen and Tom for the past 13 years, first in Newtown, CT, where she was active in the Trinity Episcopal Church, and then in Berthoud, CO. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Frances also provided transportation for Sherwood Manor residents. Her hobbies included knitting, crossword puzzles, crocheting and reading. Frances is survived by a daughter, Karen V. and Thomas F. Bennett of Berthoud, CO; three grandsons, Tom Bennett, Noel (Beth) Bennett, Roger (Julie) Bennett, all in Colorado; four great-grandchildren, Karley Bennett and Chase Bennett in CO, Briana and Shawna Bennett in CT; a special niece who she raised like adaughter, Phyllis (John R.) Estep of Mansfield, PA; a great-nephew, Terry (Nikki) Estep of Centennial, CO; a brother, Sterling Brace of Wellsboro, PA; a sister, Eloise Foster of Elmira; and many nieces and nephews. Ten brothers and sisters, Edith Smith, Ella Mae Smith, Glenn Brace, DeEtte Cole, Boyd Brace, Harold Brace, Winifred Tears, Gordon Brace, Ruth Wetmore and Marjorie Brace preceded her in death. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 30th,2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the St. James Episcopal Church in Mansfield, PA, with the Rev. Canon Rudolph J. van der Hiel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Mansfield Free Public Library, 71 North Main Street, Mansfield, PA 16933. |
