CHARLES SETH CHAMBERLAIN Charles Seth Chamberlain, 91, of Tioga, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at UPMC Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro. Charles was born on April 30, 1932, in Sullivan Township, to Clifton and Rose (Van Etten) Chamberlain. He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1950 and married Rita Boinske on November 3, 1951, in St. Andrews Catholic Church, Blossburg. Charles enter the United States Army and served in the Korean War for 17 ½ months. After the war, he joined the Pennsylvania National Guard in Mansfield, retiring with the rank of Major as an executive officer of 3rd Battalion in Milton. He attended Corning Community College and was employed by Corning Glass Works While at Corning Glass, Charles traveled to Poland and China to help establish glass factories. Charles was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He also enjoyed serving as a Scout Leader and his annual lake trout fishing trips to Canada. Together with his wife, Rita, he traveled across the United States and Europe. Charles was a member of the Holy Child Catholic Church in Mansfield and a lifetime member of the NRA. He cherished his children and grandchildren, instilling an incredible comprehension of work ethic, stability, guidance and integrity into each one. Charles is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Rita in 2012, his parents, his sister, Patricia Hatch, and brother, Larry Chamberlain. Charles is survived by his son, Dennis (Rosemary) Chamberlain; two daughters, Debra Johnson and Darlene (John) Buck; grandchildren, Casandra Johnson, Miranda (Josh) Seitz, Allen Perry, Zack (Tracy)Buck, Jacob Buck (Patricia Minnich,) Rebecca (Ethan) Hering, and Liz Buck (Drew Stansfield); step granddaughter, Autumn Dean; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Charles' name to either the Boy Scouts of America, PO Box 152079, Irving, TX 75015, https;//donations.scouting.org, or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758576, Topeka, Kansas, 66675. Charles Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 10 a.m., at Hold Child Catholic Church, Mansfield, with the Rev. Bryan Wright officiating.
