Last Residence: 14569 Warsaw, Wyoming, New York, United States of America COLBY - Lester E. Colby, 76, of Oak St., Warsaw, N.Y., formerly of Wyoming, N.Y., died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw. Born June 9, 1923, in Elmira, N.Y., he was the son of Leonard and Cornelia Celmer Colby. For many years he owned and operated Lester Colby Construction in Wyoming, N.Y. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Wyoming Hook and Ladder Co., Wyoming Exempt Firemen, American Legion, Wyoming Sportsmen's Club and was an avid baseball and softball player and was a former Little League coach. He was a former Middlebury town clerk and a former member of Wyoming Village Board. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Louis Colby and Donald Colby. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Marjorie Stevens Colby; and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 3, at 7 p.m. at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Burial will be made at Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, N.Y.
