COLE, Doris - Doris Irene (Cole) Earley, passed away into Heaven peacefully at home on June 10, 2015, joining her loved ones who predeceased her; husband, John J. Earley of 47 years; parents, Hugh and Lois (Giles) Cole; brother, Willis Cole, and sister, best friend, and side kick, Shirley J. (Cole) Johnson. Doris was born at home on November 21, 1934 in Nichols, NY. She grew up in Mansfield, PA, graduating from Mansfield State Teacher's College after high school, where she became a Social Studies Teacher, having taught in Harpursville, NY and at Parley Coburn in Elmira, NY. Doris married her loving husband, John, in August of 1960, and devoted her life to her family. She is survived by a daughter, Michele I. Earley; a son, John J. Jr., and his wife and caregiver, Lisa; and loving companion, "Pooh Bear", as well as the lights of her life, grandsons, Gabe and Matthew Raymond. She is also survived by John and Lisa's children, Katie Dunlap, Emily and Kyle Redner; nephews, Mark Cole, Shawn and Greg Johnson, with their wives, Carolyn and Shari; as well as many other much loved nieces and nephews. Doris will forever be greatly missed and loved, always a teacher with a loving word. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Care First NY, 3805 Meads Creek Rd., Painted Post, NY 14870, www.CAREFIRSTNY.ORG. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from noon to 2:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Syd McCrorey officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA. - Wellsboro Gazette, June 17, 2015 |
