Mansfield Advertiser, PA, 12 November 1952, Wednesday, p.1 Margaret Cook Weds Richard Cox Miss Margaret Cook, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ford Cook of Mansfield RD 2, and Richard Cox, son of Mr. & Mrs. Walter Cox of Mansfield RD, were married in the Roseville Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 26, 1952, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Orey E. Crippen performed the double ring ceremony. A program of music was given by Donald Smith, pianist, and Carl Hedgelin, soloist, both of Mansfield. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Attendants were Mrs. Dorothy Hedgelin, Miss Barbara Tomlinson and Miss Janice Welch. Glen Chamberlain was best man. Victor Hakes and Harold Cook, brother of the bride, ushered. All are of Mansfield. A reception followed at the home of the bride’s parents after which the couple left for a week’s wedding trip through Southern and Western states. Mrs. Cox graduated from Mansfield High School and is employed at the Mansfield Dairy Store. Mr. Cox also graduated from Mansfield High School and served two years with the armed forces. He is attending Williamsport Technical School. They are residing at 110 Academy Sr., Mansfield, PA. Tioga County Memorial Gardens MHS 1947 COOK - Margaret "Peg" Cox, 68, of Mansfield, RR#1, died Saturday, April 20, 1996, at her winter home in Dade City, Fla. Born March 22, 1928, in Roseville, she was a daughter of Ford J. and Evelyn L. Nash Cook. She had owned an operated Peggy's Beauty Shop in Mansfield. Surviving are her husband, Richard Cox; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Eric "Rick" B. and Pat Cox of Cooper City, Fla., Bruce R. and Nick L. Cox, both of Mainesburg; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Donna Rice of Mainesburg; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Brown of Tioga; several grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Alice Slingerland of Mansfield. Calling hours were held Tuesday, April 23, at the Scureman Funeral Home, Mansfield. Funeral services were held there Wednesday, April 24. The Rev. Robert Cox, her nephew, officiated. Burial was made in the Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Charleston Township. A luncheon in her memory was held immediately following the burial at the Mansfield VFW. - Wellsboro Gazette, April 24, 1996 |
