Lambert, 82, of Ulysses died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Born Dec. 3, 1916, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Elmer and Grace McConnell Cornwell. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School and Mansfield State Teachers College. She served as a home economics teacher in Northern Potter School District for 33 years. She attended the Ulysses Free Methodist Church. She was a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star #95 in Ulysses. She was a life member of the National Educators Association and the Pennsylvania State Educators Association. Preceding her in death were her husband, Blair J. Lambert, in 1965; and one brother and one sister. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Nicholas and Lou Ann Lambert of Entriken and Kenneth L. and Jean Lambert of Ulysses; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Larry Blanchard of Ulysses and Sarah and Michael Higgins of Quakertown; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Calling hours were held Friday, July 30, at the Kear-Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, where funeral services were held Saturday, July 31, with Pastor Edwin Ziegler officiating. Burial was made at Ulysses Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. - Wellsboro Gazette, 4 August 1999, p.7 |
