COVERT, Ada B. [SRGP 10791] - Mrs. Ada Covert Nash, 73, of Mainesburg, PA, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 1958. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Hamilton Brown of Mansfield; son, Warren Nash of Mainesburg; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral was at Troy Wednesday at 2 p.mm., the Rev. Glenn Dewey officiated. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery. - Mansfield Advertiser, 12 February 1958, p.7 Ada and Seward adopted Robert CAMPBELL after his mother died. Robert's name was changed to NASH although no legal adoption process was ever completed. Robert's only child was Joan NASH O'Dell who is a partner in the Sullivan-Rutland Genealogy Project. Ada continued to operate her Sullivan Township farm alone after Seward's early death. One time she fell through the mow while she was pitching hay and broke her hip. She continued to run the farm even with a broken hip. She worked desperately hard to eke out a living under very difficult circumstances. In spite of all her hard work, she still took time to raise beautiful flowers. Her particular specialty was gladiolus which she provided in abundance for the wedding of Joan NASH to Robert O'Dell. Ada died at home of breast cancer. |
