CURTIS - Charles H. Curtis, 69, [SRGP 85080] of 56 Second St., Mansfield, died Thursday, July 25, 1985, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, following an illness. Born Aug. 1, 1915, at Mansfield, he was a son of Charles E.. and Amanda Wilson Curtis. Mr. Curtis was a World War II Army captain, serving with the Corps of Engineers in Africa and Italy. He was employed by Mansfield Municipal authority for 32 years, retiring as superintendent in 1982. He was a member of the Mansfield Ambulance Assn., and the Mansfield Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Curtis was also a member of St. James Episcopal church. Surviving are his wife, the former Grace Perry; two sons, Clifford R. of Rochester, NY, and Charles R., stationed with the Navy in Yokosuka, Japan; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Bisbo, of Rochester, Mrs. Joyce Scott, of Palmyra, NY, Mrs. Mary Ann Vermilyea, of Blossburg, and Miss Betty Jean Curtis of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sisters, Mrs. Velma Nagle of Manhassett, NY and Mrs. Arlene Nugent, of Covington; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; five step-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield. The Rev. M. Peter Harer, his pastor, and the Rev. Rudolph J. Van der Hiel, assistant pastor, will officiate.
