DAVIS, Helen A. [SRGP 06436] - Mrs. Helen A. Wood, died Monday at 6:25 a.m. at her home on College Avenue, following an illness of five weeks. Death was caused by bronchial pneumonia. Mrs. Wood was the daughter of Russell and Lydia Davis and was born at Mansfield February 1, 1850. October 10, 1866, she was united in marriage to George N. Wood, who passed away two years ago. She had spent practically all of her life in Mansfield. Mrs. Wood was an example of the highest type of womanhood, an ideal mother and conscientious Christian, and was held in the highest reverence by the community. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and an honorary member of the Columbian Literary Exchange. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. L.R. Vincent, of Mansfield; nine grandchildren; and a niece, Mrs. Edna McDonald, of Philadelphia. Two children, Dr. Fred G. Wood and Mrs. S.S. Leonard passed away several years ago. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 p.m., at the home, the Rev. Joseph R. Harris officiating. She had lived in Mansfield practically all her life. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and an honorary member of the Columbian Literary Exchange. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. I.R.
