Dorsett, 73, of Lyme Rock, died Friday, [July 8, 1983] at his home. Born in Mansfield, PA, Dec. 28, 1909, son of the late Edward B. and Katherine [Cruttenden] Dorsett. He was a graduate of Mansfield State College, and received his masters degree from Duke University. He taught math at the Housatonic Valley Regional High School, and was the vice principal until his retirement in 1969. He was Salisbury judge of probate from 1970 to 1979, he was a member of the Republican Town Committee, and Lakeville United Methodist Church. A former member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, clerk of Lyme Rock Lighting District for 32 years, and a past president of the Connecticut Education Association. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor [Rowell] Dorsett of Lyme Rock; a son, Edward R. Dorsett of Morris; two daughter, Mrs. Deborah Ingves of Lakeville, and Mrs. Janet Wachsman of East Pepperell, Mass.; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Lakeville. Burial will be in Lyme Rock Cemetery. Friends may call at Newkirk Funeral Home, Main Street, Lakeville, Sunday, 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salisbury Public Health Nursing Association, or to the United Methodist Church.
