EARLEY, Grace Frances [SRGP 83158] Lewisburg Grace E. Borden, 96, a former resident of South Third Street, died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 1996, in Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, and had lived there since November 1993. Mrs. Borden was a former resident of Mansfield and Ulysses. Born April 11, 1899, in Mansfield, Mrs. Borden was the third of six children of the late Charles and Clara Reynolds Earley. Mrs. Borden was married to Theodore Ted S. Borden, who died in 1968 in Wilmington, Del. They had been married 48 years. Mrs. Borden was a graduate of Mansfield High School in 1918 and attended Mansfield Normal School. Mrs. Borden was a gifted seamstress, and in later years was a sales-person for area department stores. Mrs. Borden was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisburg and the Lewisburg Civic Club. Mrs. Borden started a Womens Club while living in Ulysses. In earlier life, Mrs. Borden was a member of the Mansfield Baptist Church, the Campfire Girls and was a prominent member of the Outlook Club for many years. Mrs. Borden is survived by a daughter, Dorothy B. Heyler of Westford, NY, and two sons, Charles R. of Bridger, Mont., and Arthur R. of RD3 Mifflinburg. Also survived are 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters preceded Mrs. Borden in death. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Gary H. Cronrath Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, by the Rev. MacKenzie Scott. Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery. Visitors may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
