He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Society, the Retired Teacher Association, Masonic Beta Lodge 647, the Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh, and the Egypt Shrine Temple, Tampa. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Grace S.; a son, Jack H., Piscataway, NJ; two sisters, Pauline Ledford, Fort Washington, MD, and Kathryn Underwood, Bath , NY; and a grandchild.
