HAGAR - FORDYCE J. HAGAR, 87, of Mansfield, PA passed away March 10, 2000 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Born April 12, 1912 in Mansfield, PA, the son of the late Claude and Jennie (Bly) Hagar, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served in the Normandy Invasion. Mr. Hagar was retired from the Mansfield Post Office where he was a mail carrier for over 28 years. He was a member of the Cherry Flats Baptist Church. He was a life member of the Mansfield hose Company and a charter member of the Mansfield Ambulance Association; a member of the Covington Odd Fellows and the Mansfield V.F.W. Post 6747. Surviving are his wife, Barbara J. (Barrowcliff) Jones Hagar, Mansfield, PA; sons, John "Jack" M. Hagar, Midland, TX; Larry Hakes, Pueblo, CO; daughter, Joanne Hagar, Corapolis, PA; step-children, Lonnie (Rose) Jones, Inverness, FL; Robert (Darlene) Jones, Wellsboro, PA; Bill Jones, Millington, TN; Cindy Ammerman, Troy, PA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Claude "Bill" (Esther) Hagar, Montoursville, PA; sister, Ina Hagar, Wellsboro, PA; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held March 14, at the Scureman Funeral Home, Inc., South Main St., Mansfield, PA with the Reverend Richard Kruger officiating.
