Mansfield Advertiser, PA, 7 June 1944, Wednesday , p.1 Adams-Hayden The marriage of Miss Deidre Elizabeth Adams, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Robert E. Adams, Crooked Creek, and Edward Ward Hayden, son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph E. Hayden, College Avenue, Mansfield, was solemnized at noon Thursday, June 1, 1944, in the rectory of St. Peter's Church, Wellsboro. The Rev. Thomas F. Kelly officiated at the double ring ceremony in the presence of the immediate families. The bride wore a street length dress of gold silk jersey, with matching accessories and a corsage of purple orchids. For traveling she wore a top coast of orchid wool. Her only attendant was Miss Lydia Manfre of Elmira, who wore a dress of coral romaine with black accessories, and a corsage of white rosebuds and lilies of the valley. Erwin Adams of Crooked Creek, brother of the bride, was best man. Before the ceremony a wedding breakfast was given at the Adams home, which was decorated with purple iris and bridal wreath. Present were the wedding party, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Adams, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Hayden and Mrs. Joseph Hayden, Jr. The bride has attended Indiana State Teachers College and will receive her bachelor's degree in home economics from Mansfield this summer. Mr. Hayden is a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and attended Mansfield State Teachers College. He is employed by the Spencer Heater Division of the Aviation Corporation, Williamsport, as a time study man. The couple will reside in Williamsport. |
