Lent - age 71; b. about 1884; d. 21 July 1955, Hempstead, NY; NY Death Cert. #45110 HAYWARD, Lillian [SRGP 86600] - Mrs. Lillian Lent of Valley Stream, NY, formerly of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 21, 1955, following an illness of three months. She was the widow of Philip Lent. The daughter of Orleyette and Anna Vickers Hayward, she was born Sept. 2, 1883, in Rutland Township and spent her girlhood there. For several years she resided on the Newtown Road before coming to Mansfield. She graduated from the Mansfield State Normal School in 1902 and taught in the Starkey School, Pumpkin Hill and later at Montoursville and Mt. Jewett. For several years she was an employee of the First National Bank here. For the past seven years she had been business manager of the Valley Stream Teachers Federal Credit Union. She was a member of the Mansfield Methodist Church and a former member of Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge and the Eastern Star. Survived by sons, Leslie Lent of Valley Stream and Merle of Williamsport; daughters, Mrs. Frances Maneval of Mansfield and Mrs. Marion Amoroso of Williamsport; nine grandchildren. Funeral was held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Shaw & Robena Funeral Home, Mansfield, the Rev. John R. Hays officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery. |
