JOHN J. HOCK [SRGP 85727] John J. Hock, 72, of 55 North Main Street, Mansfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1981 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. He was born September 23, 1908 in Kingston, Pennsylvania. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Mansfield, veteran of World War II and a member of the Austin-Cox Post No. 478, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 29. He was a member and past member of Friendship Lodge F&AM No. 247 and a member of the Williamsport Consistory. He graduated from Mansfield State College in 1934 and taught at Liberty for several years. He was Tioga County Sealer of Weights and Measures until his retirement and was active in Tioga County Republican functions and served as Committeeman for Mansfield. He was a local barber for many years. Surviving are: one sister, Miss Estelle Hock, and one brother, Anthony E. Hock, both of Wilkes-Barre. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 9, 1981 at 10 am at the Kuhl Funeral Home, Mansfield with The Reverend David L. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Thursday, January 8, from 7 to 9 pm. The Friendship Lodge memorial service will be held Thursday at 8:45 pm at the funeral home. The family will furnish the flowers. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. James Episcopal Church.
