KILLGORE - William Killgore, [SRGP 82334] aged 74 years, of Mansfield, died Dec. 5 [1947]. He is survived by his widow, son, W. Ray Killgore of Mansfield; daughter, Mrs. Edna Lawrence of Lexington Park, Md.; sister, Mrs. Margaret Roy of Horseheards; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He was born in Wells township, Bradford county. For several years he resided at Elmira Heights, then moved to Elk Run, where he operated a grocery store for five years. After selling his store he came to Mansfield and was employed in the hardware store of George L. Strait & Son for several years, after which he opened one of the first automobile sales agencies in Mansfield. He built the garage and gasoline station which he sold upon his retirement a few years ago, to Wells & Goodall. He was a member of the Methodist church. The funeral was held Monday, burial in Prospect cemetery, Mansfield. - Wellsboro Agitator, 10 December 1947 |
