KINGSLEY - (SRGP 79136) Homer F. Kingsley died on Saturday, July 5, 1913, at the family home in Sherwood street, Mansfield. Death was caused by Bright's disease, following an illness of two and a half years. He was confined to his bed ten weeks prior to his death. The funeral, which was in charge of Friendship Lodge, 7.F. & A. M. was held from the home on Monday, July ? at 4 o'clock p.m. The Rev. A. Judson, pastor of the Presbyterian church, was the officiating clergyman. Mr and Mrs George E. Robbins of Sullivan, complying with a special request of Mr Kingsley, sweetly three beautiful hymns. Burial was in Prospect cemetery, the committal being that of the Masonic fraternity. There was a large attendance, including friends from out of town, who came to pay their last respects to one whom they honored and esteemed. Mr. Kingsley was born on September 28, 1847, near Troy, Bradford county, Pa. He was the youngest of children of Nathaniel and Eliza Williams Kingsley, only one of whom survives- Miss Caroline Kingsley of Mansfield. In April, 1867. Mr Kingsley, in partnership with his father, engaged in the boot and shoe business in Mansfield. The partnership continued ten years, when he became the sole owner, and the business until September 1, making a continuous commercial career of forty-five and one half years in practically one location. We believe this record never has been in Mansfield. Mr Kingsley had served well and faithfully as a member of the Borough Council, as a trustee of Smythe Park Association, as president of the Mansfield Board of Trade, and for nearly twenty-two years as a trustee of Mansfield Normal School, at the time -------- KINGSLEY - (SRGP 79136) Homer F. [SRGP 79136] – Respected Resident of Mansfield Dies – Homer F. Kingsley Passes Away at Home After Lone Business Career – Mansfield, PA, July 7 – Following a long illness, Home F. Kingsley Died at his home on Sherwood Street, Saturday morning at 2 o’clock. Until he disposed of his shoe store, about two years ago, Mr. Kingsley had been a Mansfield merchant for forty-five years, all that time in one location on Main Street. Mr. Kingsley was 68 years old, and is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. L.A. Shadduck, of Cortland, NY; Miss Anna Kingsley, a member of the faculty of the high school of Moressen, PA; Miss Margaret Kingsley, at home and one sister, Miss Carrie Kingsley of Mansfield. The funeral was held at the family home on Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock, with Mansfield Lodge of Masons in charge. The Rev. A.B. Judson pastor of the Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery. Mr. Kingsley was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Masonic fraternity. For several years he had been a trustee of the Mansfield State Normal school, and the past two year was president of the board.
