Mansfield Advertiser, PA, 21 April 1954, Wednesday, p.1 Knowlton – Loud In a pretty candlelight service Saturday, April 17, 1954, at 8 p.m., at the Church of Christ, Canoe Camp, Miss Patricia Louise Knowlton, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Knowlton, of Mansfield, became the bride of Carl Brewster Loud, son of Karl Loud and Mrs. Lawrence Coolidge , of Wellsboro. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Norman West. Decorations were arrangements of Easter lilies and spring flowers. Mrs. Leonard Boyce, of Covington, played traditional nuptial marches and preceding the ceremony played "Because" and "I Love You Truly." Mr. Knowlton gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a princess style street length dress of navy faille trimmed in pink with pink hat and white rose bud corsage. Miss Margaret Knowlton was her sister’s maid of honor. She wore pink linen with navy hat and accessories and corsage of pink carnations. Best man was Roger Cochran, of Covington, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. The bride’s mother chose an aqua dress with black and white accessories and gardenia corsage. The bridegroom’s mother wore aqua with pink accessories and gardenia corsage. A reception for 55 guests in the church dining room followed the ceremony. Mrs. Boyce played appropriate music during the reception. The bride is a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and is employed in the office of Putnam Sales in Wellsboro. The bridegroom attended Wellsboro schools and served for 21 months in the US Army, several months of which were spent in Korea. He is employed in the Corning plant of the Corning Glass Works. Patricia Louise Loud April 27, 1933 - December 12, 2024 Patricia Louise Loud, age 91, formerly of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 27, 1933, in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, to Richard and Dorothy (Rose) Knowlton. Patricia was a 1951 graduate of Mansfield High School. She married Carl Loud on April 17, 1954, in Canoe Camp, Pennsylvania. She was employed by Campbell School District as a bus driver. Patricia had many hobbies that brought her joy. She was an avid reader and crocheted countless afghans for loved ones over the years. She also enjoyed solving puzzles and completing word search books. No rummage sale or thrift store ever went unnoticed by her-she loved stopping in to see what treasures she could find. Right up until the end, Patricia fondly remembered her time driving a school bus, a job she truly enjoyed. She also cherished the occasional trip to the casino. Patricia is survived by her grandchildren, Chad and Jennie Humphrey of Corning, Bridgett and Patrick McLean of Addison, Daniel and Patrick Close of Rifle, CO, Jennifer and Paul Sands of Addison, Adam and Michele Makitra of Bath, Brandon Windows and Jenna Dart of Cameron Mills; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Taylor, Kailey, Zachary, Quay, Kendra, Emma, Cade, Alec, Kolby, Carly, Blake, Connor, Brenna, and Jayce; son-in-law, George Lopez of CA; close friends, John and Wanda Redden of Troutman, NC; and very special caretakers from Elcor, Denise, Becky and Loretta. In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by all three of her children, Carla Humphrey, Paula Windows, and Cheryl Loud; and her son-in-law, Milson Windows. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall Street, Addison, NY, on January 17, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Troy Preston officiating. Interment will be held at Woodhull Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband. |
