LLOYD, S. Manford [SRGP 89170] - S Manford Lloyd, 84, of 18 College Avenue, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 1990, at the Soldiers & Sailors memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born April 22, 1906, in Morris, he was the son of Thomas W. and Carolyn Campbell Lloyd. He was a member of the First United Methodist church. He was an inductee of the Mansfield University Athletic Hall of Fame and the Tioga County Sports Hall of Fame. He retired after 32 years of employment as a mathematics professor at the former Mansfield State College. A mathematics competition named in his honor has been held yearly at the university, since he retired in 1971. He was a graduate of Mansfield Normal School and received his master's degrees from Columbia University. He did post-graduate studies at Minnesota, Maine, and Penn State universities. Surviving are his wife, Florence Sturdevant Lloyd, a son, Roger Lloyd of Doylestown; a daughter, Juliana Mills of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, Gordon Lloyd of Canton, and Robert Lloyd of Longwood, FL; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Friends were invited to call at Wilston's Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 23. The funeral service was held there on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 1 p.m. Burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev.
