MacBLANE, Mary – Mary [MacBlane] Barden, 94, of Mansfield died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000. Born July 16, 1906, in Morris Run, she was the daughter of Samuel and Mary [Moses] MacBlane. She attended Morris Run and Mansfield schools and was a graduate of the Mansfield Normal School. she retired from teaching in the Wellsboro-Charleston School District in 1964. She was married on Dec. 22, 1928, to Arthur E. Barden of Mansfield. A lifelong resident of the Mansfield area, she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, and a former member of the Eastern Star of Mansfield. Preceding her in death were her husband, Arthur E. Barden; one brother, Edwin MacBlane; and sister, Margaret Giesa. Surviving are three children and their spouses, Ann and John Miller of Corning, NY, Margaret and Walter Leach Jr. of Selinsgrove and Edward and Nancy Barden of Lancaster; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, from 1 – 2 p.m. at the Wilston Funeral Home, 18 N. Main St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held there Saturday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joyce Treas officiating. Burial will be made at Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Tioga Count Unit, 1948 E.
