She was born January 23, 1912, in Farmington Township, PA, to Charles L. & Wilda Leadbetter Palmer. Aileen attended high school in Mansfield, PA, and nurses training in Clifton Springs, NY. She joined the Army and worked at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. She later married Dr. Kenneth A. Tyler in New York City on June 18, 1937. Aileen came back to New York City to work at the Neurological Institute Presbyterian Hospital after her marriage to Dr. Tyler and later she served as his office nurse for a practice that they operated in Boulder. She enjoyed traveling; parking by the ocean and listening to the waves, as well as the mountains, rivers, lakes and wildlife. She also enjoyed reading and listening to music. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Kenneth A. Tyler of Clancy; her son, Arthur Tyler of Helena; daughters Patricia Kelley of Shoshone, Idaho and Barbara Miller of Albany, Ore.; also her sisters, Agnus Cooper of Elmira, NY, Ruth Mitchell of Corning, NY, Bettylou Decker of Oxford, NY; her grandchildren, Lena Tyler Lutz of Giessen, Germany; Kenneth F. Tyler of New Orleans, LA; Kathryn J. Miller of Le Locle, Switzerland; Charles A Miller of Medford, Mass.; Martha Kelly of Shoshone, Idaho; Gena Kelley of Tacoma, Wash.; Julieann Kelley of Sister, Ore.; Tana Kelley of Hailey, Idaho; Mark Kelley and Tim Kelley both of Shoshone; and her great grandchildren Jaya Shaw of Haley, Idaho and Christopher Lutz of Giessen, Germany. Vigil services will be conducted at the Retz Funeral Chapel Friday at 7 p.m. Moss of the Resurrection will be conducted on Saturday 10 a.m. at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in East Helena with burial to follow at Saint Ann’s Catholic Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their thanks to all those who preyed for her during her illness. They would also like to thank the doctors and staff that cared for her at St. Peter’s Hospital, Westmont Caregivers and Hospice personnel.
