ROBBINS - Miss Olive Robbins [SRGP 75803] died June 24 [1922] at 6:30 a.m. at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ida R. Ridington, in the parsonage of the M.E. church at Mahanoy City, PA. Her father, who died only a short time ago, was a descendant of the early New England settlers. Miss Robbins was graduated from the Mansfield Normal School and followed her father's profession, teaching in Michigan and this state. She was a fine disciplinarian so that the hardest to control would be under the spell of her personality, suddenly be transferred into model, diligent students. She taught for years until illness caused her to retire. She was a member of the M.E. church. She leaves the following sisters and one brother - Mrs. Amy McCrumb, of Wellsboro; Miss Clara Robbins and Burt Robbins, of Mansfield; and Mrs. Ida R. Ridington, of Mahanoy City. The funeral services will be held at Mansfield. - Wellsboro Agitator, June 28, 1922 |
