DENZEL "HAPPY" ROSE (SRGP 19367) Denzel S. "Happy" Rose, 84, of Horseheads, NY and formerly of Mansfield, died Wednesday, September 25, 1991 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. He was born Marcy 3, 1907 in Roseville, PA, the son of Herman B. and Mary Wilson Rose. He retired from the Tioga Petroleum Company and was a member of the Mainesburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Gaylord Rose; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) and Harold Waite of Pine City, NY; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; sisters, Dorthea Knowlton of Blossburg, PA and LaVera Sterling of Roseville, PA; daughter-in-law, Margaret Rose of Mars, PA. He was predeceased by his son Philip in 1983. Funeral services were held September 28 at the Scureman Funeral Home in Mansfield with the Rev. E. Gene Callihan and the Rev. James Bellamy officiating. Burial was to be in Watson Cemetery, Roseville. Memorial donations may be made to the Mainesburg United Methodist Church.
