Mansfield Advertiser, PA, 10 July 1940, Wednesday, p.1 Miss Vera Roupp bride of George R. Ball The marriage of Miss Vera Iola Roupp, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Grant Roupp, Sr., of Mansfield, to George LaRue Ball, son of Mr. & Mrs. M.E. Ball, of Cogan Station, was solemnized at the home of the bride at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 [1940]. The Rev. David J. Griffiths performed the ceremony. Attendants to the bride were her sister, Mrs. George Cochran, of Liberty, and Miss Mary Ball, of Waterbury, CT, sister of the bridegroom. Mr. Ball had as his attendant Grant Roupp, Jr., of Williamsport, brother of the bride. Musical selection were played by Miss Mary French. The bride wore a gown of white voile with lace insertions and carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. On her head she wore a wreath of white rosebuds. Her matron of honor was gowned in blue dotted swiss and carried pink and white peonies and wore a wreath of pink rosebuds. The bridesmaid wore a gown of pink net and carried blue delphiniums. She wore a pink flowered turban. Mrs. Ball is a graduate of Mansfield High School and State Teachers College and has taught for several years in Lycoming County School. Mr. Ball is employed by the Sweet Street Company, Williamsport. Following a reception, the coupe left on a trip to Niagara Falls and Detroit, Mich.
