Notes	Byron Shaw = 25627 SHAW, Byron Paige [SRGP 25627] – Painted Post – Byron P. Shaw, age 94 of Painted Post, NY passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Corning Hospital. Born on August 3, 1928 in Blossburg, PA, he was the son of the late Earl & Daisy [Brace] Shaw. After graduating from high school, Byron served in the United States Army form 1948 to 1951, having been stationed in post war Germany. Byron married Barbara Evans on December 24, 1950. They celebrated 72 years of marriage. He worked as a construction superintendent for Robert Hooey Construction Company for 44 years before his retirement in 1993. Byron was well known in the Corning area – participating in many local activities. He was a member of the Corning Elks Club for 54 years and enjoyed golfing and bowling with his friends. He was also an avid Yankees fan. His family will remember him as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Byron is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Barbara Shaw formerly of Painted Post and currently of Appleridge in Horseheads; children: Byron P. [Michaelle] Shaw, Jr. of Elmira, NY, Christopher D. [Deborah] Shaw of Brookville, OH; grandchildren: Mitchell E. Shaw, Alison Shaw and Abigail Shaw; brothers: Harold Shaw of Mansfield, PA and Gayle Shaw of Horseheads, NY. In addition to his parents, Byron was predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters. Private services will be held at the convenience for the family. Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pultney St., Corning, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
