SHAW - Daryl Winston Shaw, 80, of Silver Spring, MD, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1992, of cancer at his home. A native of Mansfield, he was a graduate of Mansfield State College. He received a masters degree from Duke University and doctorate from George Washington University. Before moving to Montgomery County in 1939, he worked in Pennsylvania schools in Bradford and Susquehanna counties. After moving, he served as principal at several schools. He served in the Navy during World War II. His marriage to Dora Patton Shaw ended in divorce. Two sons of that marriage preceded him in death, Richard Shaw and David Shaw. Survivors include his wife, Betty Allnutt Whitmore Shaw of Silver Spring; one daughter, Patricia Walsh of Memphis and Naples, Fla.; seven brothers, Richard Shaw of Dallas, Robert and Harold Shaw, both of Mansfield, Earl Shaw of Damascus, Gayle Shaw of Elmira, NY. Leland Shaw of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Byron Shaw of Painted Post, NY; three sisters, Berta Vaughan of Danville, Marilyn Lee of Bolivar, NY, and Alice Scott of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. - Wellsboro Agitator, November 25, 1992 |
