Mrs. Edith SHAW Jones , (SRGP 45398) 77, of Syracuse , formerly of Mansfield, Saturday, Sept. 21, 1946. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Jones Snyder, grandson, Philips Snyder, and great grandson, all of Syracuse ; sister, Mrs. Mabel Shaw Bennett of Johnson City. Funeral Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shaw Funeral Home Mansfiield. Rev. Floyd Guiles. Prospect Cemetery. SHAW, Edith [SRGP 45398] – Mrs. Edith Shaw Jones, 77, of Syracuse, NY, formerly of Mansfield, died Saturday, Sept 21, 1946. A daughter of Frank and Celia Seeley Shaw, she was born in the house on North Main Street now owned by Ronald Brace. She received her education in the Mansfield schools, graduating from Mansfield State Normal School in 1888. She taught in the rural schools and for many years was on the faculty of the Mansfield Senior High School. She was an honorary member of the Columbian Literary Exchange and while here was active in the social and civic affairs of the community. Mrs. Jones was the author of many articles and poems and just recently published a book of poems entitles "Dear Teacher". Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Jones Snyder; grandson, Philip Snyder; and great-grandson, Philip Snyder, all of Syracuse; and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Shaw Bennett, of Johnson City. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Shaw Funeral Home here, the Rev. Floyd Guiles officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery. Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Snyder and son Philip, J. Lane and son Lionel and daughter Elizabeth, all of Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rhyan of Corning; Mrs. Molly Weston Kent of Wilkes-Barre`; Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Miller of Elmira; and Mr. and Mrs. S.
