SHAW Edson R. (SRGP 03674) 90, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the Green Home, Wellsboro. He was born July 21, 1921, in Mansfield, and is the last of six children of John and Leda Knapp Shaw. Edson was a retired dairy farmer, a charter member of the East Sullivan Grange, the Mainesburg United Methodist Church, and served as a longtime member of the board of directors of Southern Tioga Schools. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edson Jr. and Kaleen Shaw of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Charles Kent of Mansfield; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Nellie and his daughter, Joan Cowles. Private graveside services will be held for Edson at the State Road Cemetery, Mainesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Tioga County Branch of the YMCA 40-42 Besanceney Dr. Mansfield, PA 16933. Wellsboro Gazette – April 12, 2012 |
