Nettie Jane Shepard, single = 18304 Death Cert. #68032; Cause - Hypertensive cardiovascular disease b. 8 March 1863, Millerton, PA; d. 9 July 1941, Mansfield Boro Occupation - Teacher Parents - Dayton Shepard, Tioga, PA + Angeline Garrison, Tioga County, PA Informant - Mrs. Nona Ayers, Millerton, PA Burial - 12 July 1941, Jobs Corners Cemetery MA obit is so faded that I could not read it - July 9, 1941, 9/40, c-6 SHEPARD, Nettie Jane [SRGP 18304] - Miss Nettie Shepard, aged 79 years, retired school teacher, was found dead at her South Main street home in Mansfield at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, by a neighbor, Mrs. Richard Day. Dr. D.G. Crittenden, attending physician, said death was due to natural causes. She was the daughter of Dayton and Angelina Garrison Shepard. She was graduated from the Mansfield State Normal School and taught in the Mansfield Senior High School for several years. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Fred Smith of Mainesburg, and Mrs. Gale Shaw of Millerton. A brother, Mort Shepard, Mansfield business man, died several years ago. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Shaw Funeral Home, Rev. David J. Griffiths officiating; burial in the Jobs Corners cemetery. - Wellsboro Agitator, 16 July 1941, p.4 |
