SMITH , Lisle Thomas Age 92, (SRGP 03668) formerly of Mainesburg, PA, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. Lisle was the husband of Evalyn Bardwell Smith for 71 years. Lisle was born on October 11, 1910 in Sullivan Twp., PA, a son of David (Tommy) and Ella (Ryan) Smith. Lisle retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Highway in 1971. After his retirement, he was employed by Maple Lanes Bowling Alley. Lisle was an avid bowler, hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Canoe Camp Church of Christ (Disciples) and the Arbon IOOF Lodge #489. Lisle is survived by his wife, Evalyn; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald L. and Barbara Smith of Williamsport, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, the Rev. Maxine R. and Randall Mills of South Williamsport, PA; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Smith of Hyannis, MA; a sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Edson Shaw of Mansfield, PA. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 27, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2003, at 2:30 p.m. at the Canoe Camp Church of Christ (Disciples), S. Main St., Mansfield, PA, with his pastor, the Rev. Kirk Smethers, officiating. Burial will be in the State Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church in Lisle's memory. |
