Louise S. Smith Livengood b. 31 August 1919, Mansfield, PA; d. 28 October 2015, Montoursville, Lycoming County, PA; Burial State Road Cemetery, Cogan Station, Lycoming County, PA SMITH, Louise Mae [SRGP 8062] - Louise S. Metzger Livengood, 96, of Williamsport died Wednesday October 28, 2015 at the Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Montoursville. Louise was born August 31, 1919, in Mansfield, a daughter of the late Ernest and Mamie (McKay) Smith. In 1943, she married the late Raymond S. Metzger, who died in 1996. Louise was an active member of State Road United Methodist Church. She graduated from Mansfield High School and the former Mansfield State Teachers College. She began her teaching career, in 1940 at the State Road one room school house and finished her career, 29 years later at the former Round Hills Elementary School. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Chapter 2-078 PA and the Bottle Run Homemakers Organization. She enjoyed sewing, basket weaving and wheat-weaving. She is survived by the following children, Jerry R., Ormond Beach, FL, Carolyn L. Bowie, MD, Chris A., Linden and Mark N., Linden; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Alene of Bracey, VA and Alice of Corning, NY and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 53 years, Louise was preceded in death by her second husband, Ralph Livengood and four brothers. Funeral services celebrating the life of Louise, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the State Road United Methodist Church, 6738 Daughertys Run Road, Linden by Rev. Dr. S. David Simon.
