Smith – b. 8 July 1932; d. 9 June 1959; Burial – St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Wellsboro, PA SMITH, Robert Maurice Mansfield Advertiser, PA, Wednesday, p.4 County Man Killed in Route 15 Accident A Wellsboro man was killed and two other Tioga Co., men were injured in a two-car crash last night shortly after 11 p.m. on Rte. 15 about 2 1/2 miles north of the Penna. state line in Steuben County. The dead man was Robert Maurice Smith, 26, of 51 Nichols St., Wellsboro, PA. Being treated early today at Corning Hospital for undetermined injuries were two men, reportedly occupants of the second car. George "Pete" Glover, 25, of Lawrenceville, Alan King, about 20, of Tioga, PA. An early report stated that the car driven by Smith was headed south on Rt. 15 and the other car was being operated northward. Robert M. Smith is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Maurice W. Smith of 219 S. Academy St., Mansfield. SMITH, Robert Maurice – Robert Maurice Smith, 26, of Nichols Street, Wellsboro, June 9, 1959 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born July 8, 1932 in Mansfield. Mr. Smith was an employee of Corning plant of the Corning Glass Works, a member of the e a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a Korean War Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Mary Mathers Smith; two daughters, Dianne and Joanne, both at home; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Smith, Mansfield; two brothers, Basil, with the US Army in France and Philip, Mansfield; two sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Pointek, Morris Run and Mrs. Frances Walizer of Williamsport. Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday evening at 8 p.m. Requiem High Mass will be offered Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Church, Rev. John T. Kerrigan officiating.
