SOPER - HALL Chrystal M. (Soper) (SRGP 59335) Age 90 of Yarmouth Port, MA, died November 2, 2005 at the Rosewood Manor in Harwich. She was predeceased by her husband, John R. Hall, owner of the former Hall Motor Company of Troy, PA. Mrs. Hall was born in Rutland, PA. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School and Mansfield State College in Mansfield, PA. Chrystal was instrumental in the founding of Girl Scouting and the Parent Teachers Association in Troy, PA. She headed and served on the library board for many years in Troy and organized an environmental group that planted many trees through the community. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Larger Fellowship in Boston, MA for fifty years. Chrystal, a voracious reader, was astute in politics and nutrition, the environment and world events. She was an accomplished cook. She was also educated in classical music. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Hall) Strong and her husband Frank J. of Osterville, MA; one brother, Wellwood Soper of Hendersonville, NC; two grandchildren, David Strong of North Easton, MA and Jennifer A. Strong of Melrose, MA; and two great-grandchildren, Alicia and Nicole Strong of North Easton, MA. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 7 at 12:00 Noon in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Ancient Cemetery, Yarmouth Port. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 369, Hyannis, MA 02601. |
