Tomb, 86, of Middlebury Center, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at home. A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Nelson on July 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dorothy Densmore, Pastor of the church, officiating. The family respectfully declines flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to United Church of Nelson, Nelson, PA 16840; the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department, Nelson, PA 16940; or to the Breast Health Center, 1705 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements are in care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Elkland. - Elmira Star- Gazette, NY, 17 June 2012, Sunday, p.19 TOMB, John Samuel, Sr. - John Samuel Tomb, Sr., age 83, of RD #2, Middlebury Center, PA, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2004, at his residence. He was born November 30, 1920 in Nelson Twp., PA, the son of Joseph and Helen Hazlett Tomb. He was retired from Dresser Manufacturing, Wellsboro, PA. He also worked for many years for the Elkland Leather Company. He was a Penna. Forest Fire Warden for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy who served during WWII. He was a member and caretaker of the United Church of Nelson. He was a member of the Nelson International Order of Odd Fellows, Alert Grange #905 and Elkland Moose Lodge #746. He was a life member of the Nelson Vol. Fire Dept. John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanne Stephens Tomb; sons, John "Jack" Tomb, Jr., Middlebury, PA, Steven Tomb, Lawrenceville, PA; daughters, Sharon Hatcher, Nelson, PA, Barbara Seeley, Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Sean Hatcher, Nelson, PA, Mrs. Scott "Patty" Morseman, Elkland, PA, Ricky and Richie Smethers, Berwick, PA; great-grandchildren, Justin and Trey Adams, Elkland, PA, John and Michael Morseman, Elkland, PA; two brothers, two sisters, and one aunt. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Sunday, September 12, 2004, at 3:00 p.m., at the Nelson United Methodist Church, Nelson, PA, William Hague, officiating. The family respectfully declines flowers.
