Stiles, both of Baltimore; grandchildren, Jennifer, Joanna, Laura, James and Margaret Kreps and Sabrina Stiles; father, J. Newton Stiles of Baltimore, brother, Robert Stiles, and sister, Jean Stafford, of Baltimore. He was predeceased by his mother, Ruth Wilbur Stiles. Reese Weds Former Elmira Man Miss Lily May Reese, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Henry D. Reese Sr. of Baltimore, MD, became the bride of Edward W. Stiles Sunday, Sept. 4, 1949, at the Holy Comforter Lutheran Church, Baltimore. Mr. Stiles is the son of Mr. & Mrs. John N. Stiles of Baltimore, formerly of Elmira and the grandson of Mr. & Mrs. P.N. Stiles of 913 Spruce St. The Rev. J. Frank Fife performed the double ring ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white satin gown trimmed with lace. The finger-tip veil of illusion was caught to a small cap and she carried a white prayer book topped with a white orchid. Mrs. Gilbert F. McNamara of Baltimore, was matron of honor. She wore a blue taffeta gown and a picture hat of net. She carried a tulle fan of blue with pink flowers. The bridesmaids, Miss Jeanne Stiles, Miss Charlotte Curles and Miss Eileen Keogh, all of Baltimore, where attired in orchid, peach and green taffeta gown respectively. They wore matching hats and carried matching fans. Gilbert McNamara of Baltimore was best man. Ushers were William F. Mold of 521 Jefferson St., Elmira, Robert Stiles and David Reese of Baltimore. The reception was held in the church social rooms for 200 guests. The couple left on a trip to Niagara Falls, Toronto, Canada, Rochester and Elmira. The bride attended schools in Baltimore and is employed as a secretary. Mr. Stiles is a senior at the University of Maryland. The couple will reside at 1127 Roland Heights Ave., Baltimore. |
