STOUT Ruth E. Maneval 86, formerly of Mansfield, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at the Green Home Inc., Wellsboro. She was born May 29, 1924, in Mansfield, the daughter of Fred and Beatrice Canfield Stout. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield. She was a Red Cross volunteer for a number of years, serving with the Gray Ladies at the Wellsboro Hospital. Ruth also volunteered with the Bradford-Tioga Head Start Program. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School Class of 1942 and prior to marriage was employed by the Artistic Card Company. Ruth was everyone's aunt. She especially enjoyed children. She was devoted to her husband, her home and her pets. Her's was a spirit of perspicuous gentleness. She could turn a simple event into a celebration. Yard sales at Maneval's were renown. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Paul, in February 2008, and his sister, Sara Wright. Friends are invited to call at the Gary Wilston Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 130 S. Main St., Mansfield, Thursday, Dec. 30, 11 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will follow there Thursday at noon with the Rev. Joy Hulslander officiating. Burial will be in Salem - St. Paul Cemetery.
