Leslie M. Age 82, dies on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at Broad Acres Nursing Home. He was born in Sullivan Township on September 19, 1921, a son of the late Lee and Mildred MUDGE Tice. Leslie was a well-known TV repairman, serving the community for many years. He was a member of the Elk Run United Methodist Church. He was an accomplished amateur astronomer, having built several telescopes and observatories. Leslie was a member of the Astronomy Club in Chemung County, NY. Leslie served with the US Army during WWII as a technical sergeant. He was involved with early radar at Pearl Harbor. Leslie is survived by his wife, Marcella MILLER Tice of Broad Acres; daughter, Joyce M. Tice of Sullivan Township; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Homer Tice in 1994; and son-in-law, Stanley Schafranek in 1990. Friends are invited to call at Scureman Funeral Home, Inc., 130 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA, on Friday, October 24, 2003, from 2 to 4 p.m. The funeral and committal service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 25, 2003, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Howard Woodruff officiating. Interment will be in State Road Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made in Leslie's name to Broad Acres, RR 3, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
