WELCH -MRS. MYRTLE WELCH GAIL, 70, of 45 Troy Street, died suddenly Thursday morning, April 6, 1961. Mrs. Gail and her husband, who died several years ago, operated Gail's Restaurant for ten years. Born at Mansfield RD, Jan. 5, she was the daughter of Elmer and Ella Smith Welch. She was a member of Canton Lodge No. 981, Women of the Moose. Surviving are two sons, John E. (Donn) Calkins, of Canton, and Faye Calkins of Corning, N.Y., Corning, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a brother, Gus Welch of Mansfield, RD. The rev. Herman C. Humke, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, conducted the services. Services were held at the Kleese Funeral Home, Center Street, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial was in Grover Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Heess, William Madigan, W. G. Crist, Frank Carozza, Carl Krotzer and A. P. Watson. -Canton Independent Sentinel. |
