Description |
Scanned from Joan's 1944 high school scrapbook The Star Theater was built next to the Mansfield Hotel in 1916. In 1935, it briefly operated as the Rialto. In 1936, Harry Taylor and Hack Swain bought it and combined their names to form Twain. After Harry's death in 1950, it was operated by his wife Louise Farrer Taylor. Francis Murphy of Tioga worked there for many years. John and Effie Antonio bought it in 1959. It closed in the 1970s and was razed in 1985. |
