Marines Served 15 May 1918 - 30 Aug 1919 Served Overseas 26 Aug 1918 - 5 Aug 1919 Wounded in Action 9 June 1918 No death date inscribed on tombstone BAILEY, Stanley Bowen [SRGP 31710] - Stanley Bowen Bailey Died Suddenly, Monday - Stanley Bowen Bailey, 48, died at the wheel of his car about 9:15 a.m. Monday, while en route to Elmira, where he was employed by Sheehan, Deane & Co., Inc. He was accompanied by Mrs. E. Louise Williamson and M BAILEY, Stanley Bowen [SRGP 31710] - Stanley Bowen Bailey, aged 46 year, died at the wheel of his automobile at 8:15 a.m. Monday, while en route to Elmira, where he was employed by Sheehan, Dean & Co. He was accompanied by Mrs. E. Louise Williamson and Morgan Griffiths of Mansfield, also employed at the Elmira Store. The party was near Powers Corners, when the driver suffered a heart attack. The car was stopped without accident and a physician summoned who pronounced the man dead. Mr. Bailey was born at Mansfield and had resided there practically all his life. Surviving are his wife, Netta; a son, Roger of Bristol; a daughter, Carol of Merchantville, NJ, and Phyllis at home; three brothers, Ross and Stuart of Mansfield, Lyndon of Beloit, Wis.; and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Hayden Jr. of Mansfield. - Wellsboro Gazette, December 23, 1943 |
