Shaw, Laurelton, PA, a teacher in the Western Area Joint School at that place, died unexpectedly Tues., at 9:30 p.m. at his home in Millmont, PA. Mr. Shaw had taught school Tuesday as usual. He was stricken in the evening at home, dying almost instantly. A veteran of World War I, he saw considerable duty in France. Born in Mansfield on April 14, 1900, he was the son of the late John Shaw. He was a graduate of Mansfield State Teachers College and received his Masters Degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1935. A member of the Methodist Church of Laurelton, he taught the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday School. he was a member of the West End Fair Association. He had lived in Laurelton since 1935. Mr. Shaw was a member of F&AM Lodge of Tunkhannock. He was active in Boy Scouts and served on several committees of the scout council of the area. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Libby Shaw; three sons, Duain, in Army Service in Germany; Nelson Byron Jr. and Wilford, at home; two daughters, Donita and Kathie, at home; four brothers, Lester and Edson of Mansfield, John H of Milton, and Llewellyn of Syracuse; two sisters, Martha Shaw of Swarthmore and Mrs. Esther Ferrer of Brooklyn, NY.
