SMITH – ANSON J. SMITH, 64, (SRGP 10129) OF 725 Windsor Ave., Elmira, died Friday, Sept. 21, 1962. He was a right-of-way agent for the New York State Electric & Gas Corp. He had been employed by the utility for 42 years. Mr. Smith, in his youth lived for a number of years in the home of Mr. & Mrs. George Shipman of Mansfield. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School and was president of his graduating class. He was a member of Mansfield Lodge, F & AM, the Quarter Century Club of the New York State Electric & Gas Corp., and a charter member of Austin-Cox Post, American Legion, of Mansfield. He was a member of Lake St. Presbyterian Church. He is survived by wife, Mrs. Velma Clark Smith; brother, Rayburn of Lancaster, NY. Funeral was held at Shaw & Robena Funeral Home, Monday at 2 pm, the Rev. David Griffiths officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery, Mansfield.
